We will be looking for officials for the following sports:

Fall

Soccer Referees - Deadline August 31, 2007 or until positions are full

The Deerfield Community Center (DCC) is currently hiring for spring soccer referees. The pay is $8 game with a $.50 increase every year. The season runs fromSept.15-Oct. 20, 2007. All games are held in Deerfield on Saturday mornings from 8:30 AM- 10:30 AM. I am looking for candidates who are willing to work all 6 Saturdays during the designated time. SUMMER

Youth Baseball Umpires - Deadline May 25 or until position is full

The Deerfield Community Center (DCC) is currently hiring for summer baseball umpires. You must be 16 year old in order to be considered. Umpires will make $16/game The season runs June 4-July 24, 2007. There are games Monday-Thursday and some Saturdays. All games will be held at the Community Park in Deerfield and will begin at 6 PM

Youth Basketball Referees-Deadline November 16

The Deerfield Community Center (DCC) is currently hiring for winter basketball referees. The pay is $8 game with a $.50 increase every year. The season runs from Dec.-Feb., 2008. All games are held in Deerfield Schools on Saturday mornings from 8:00 AM- 11:30 AM with possible weekday games. Senior Recreation

Volunteers Needed

We are in need of volunteers to assist with our Thursday Recreation Program for Seniors. Tasks would include serving meal and helping with clean up. This is a great opportunity to have fun volunteering and get a free meal.

Food Pantry

The food pantry supports local families in need. Donations of non-perishable food items are always needed. You can drop off your contribution anytime during regular office hours (Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.).

Volunteers are also needed to work at the food pantry (located inside the community center) on the second Saturday of the month from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. and the fourth Thursday of the month from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Call us to schedule a volunteer time.

Clubs

Senior Citizen Recreation

The senior citizen recreation program is looking for more members to join in the fun each Thursday month.

The senior recreation program enjoys Euchre (a card game) and Bingo including a light lunch and fellowship with other Deerfield senior residents. Please feel free to contact the center for more information or come join us at our next gathering.

Youth and Teen Council

The youth and teen councils of the DCC are looking for members. Each group meets once a month at the center and helps provide a variety of programs, support the DCC board in various fundraising events and volunteer to help out others in the community.

Donations

Please keep DCC in mind when you are cleaning out your attic, closets, or garage. Materials you no longer need may go a long way in keeping vital community programs alive.

Financial donations are always welcome and are tax deductible.
