Summer T-Ball

It’s time for T-ball season again.  Deerfield Community Center (DCC) offers t-ball to youth that are in Kindergarten (2007-08 school year).  It is a six-week session, from June 10-July15, 2008.  Each player will receive a DCC t-shirt and be assigned to a team.  Please show up on the first night (June 15) ~15 minutes early, so you can meet your coach(es).  T-ball players will be working on the basic skills:  throwing, catching, fielding, running bases and batting off the tee.  Players are encouraged to practice skills at home before, during and after the season is completed. 

            It’s very important for each child and parent to make a commitment to attend each practice/game.  It is very discouraging when a team is unable to practice or play due to the high number of children whom are absent.  Please keep this in mind when registering your child.

            T-ball meets once a week on Tuesday evenings from 6-7 p.m. at Deerfield High School (north-west corner of school grounds off Quarry St.).  Each team will have ~20-30 min. skill development session each Tuesday evening followed by a game.

            We need volunteers to help with the season; it’s an essential component of this league.  Please indicate on registration form if you would like to volunteer as a coach.  If you are interested in coaching, we will have a coaches meeting on May 7

@ 6:30 PM at the Deerfield Community Center.  At this meeting you will be picking up gear, team roster and schedule.
